Institutions have a catalytic role to play and can bring a transformational change. We need to think scientifically about public health. Along with medical doctors, we need to develop in parallel the health management faculty so that we build health systems and institutions that can address problems effectively.
A country’s prosperity rides on the health of its population. Today, the foremost challenge confronting Pakistan is improving its performance on health indicators. Beyond these numbers which represent national averages, there is a human dimension to public health – all sections of Pakistan’s population need to be assured of accessible, affordable, and effective health services.
